While this is a nursery rhyme, it can be used to teach several musical elements to older students.

This song is great for teaching:

Ternary form (ABA).
Grace note.
Secondary dominant chord (using the C# in the last bar of section 'B')
The rhythmic element 'ka-tim-ti' (semiquaver, dotted quaver, quaver / sixteenth note, dotted eighth note, eighth note).
The melodic element 'fi' (sharpened 'fa').
