Ladybug

This lovely song is great for:

  • Singing to young children and having them join in the actions - they will subconsciously be feeling the 6/8 metre.
  • Singing with confident singers who can accurately sing the "fi" with secure tuning.
  • Preparing and practising 6/8 metre.

Teaching Suggestion

  • For working with tweens, teens and adults we suggest using the song "Come Join Our Song" which has the same melody and rhythm, but more age-appropriate lyrics.
  • This will enable you to teach secondary dominants (bar 7); compound metre (6/8 time), melodic sequence, broken chords and added note chords to older music learners!
