Goodnight (Staff Reading Lines and Spaces)

Students can follow the pictures of stars on the staff as they sing "Goodnight".
This resource has the song once with stars on lines and once in the spaces. This provides subconscious preparation for skips.
This activity prepares students for the concept of notes written on the staff as they follow the melodic contour of the song.
When singing the song with the staff pictures, it helps students' developing understanding to sing at a higher pitch for the notes that are higher on the staff and a lower pitch for the notes that are lower on the staff. (Even though there is no clef at this stage.)
Students can colour in the stars. You might like them to colour the higher notes one colour and the lower notes a different colour.
