Hop Old Squirrel (4-4)

This simple American Folk Song is great for:

Word and action improvisation (see teaching suggestions on the PDF download).
Teaching the melodic elements 'do', 're', 'mi' to older beginners.
Practising the melodic element 're'.
Preparing and practising the rhythmic element 'sa'. To do this I would substitute the word 'squirrel' for a one syllable word, e.g. cat or dog.
