Ding Dong Bell

This nursery rhyme has a moral to it - to encourage children to be kind and understanding of animals.

The nursery rhyme is great for:

  • Teaching the rhythmic element 'triplet'.
  • Teaching the melodic element 'low ti'.
  • Using 'onomatopoeia'.

Onomatopoeia is a very musical language device, where the sound of the word mimics what it is naming or describing. In this case "ding" and "dong" sound like and describe the sound of a bell.
