This simple, majestic Christmas Carol is useful for:

• Teaching the time signature 4/4.
• Teaching the rhythmic element 'tum ti' (dotted crotchet, quaver / dotted quarter note, eighth note.)
• Singing and identifying ascending and descending perfect 4ths, perfect 5ths and descending minor 6th ('so' to 'low ti').
• To capture the majesty of the music, long phrases need to be sung (preferably four bar phrases) with plenty of air support! (For group singing, might need to stagger breathing.)
