Betty Botter - A Tongue Twister

Tongue Twisters are great for:

• Strengthening the muscles we use to speak.
• Learning to produce clearer pronunciation.
• Warming up.

Use this one for:

• Preparing and practising 'tika-tika' (semiquavers / sixteenth notes).
• Teaching the melodic element 'fa'.
• Tuning 2nds (steps) - ascending and descending.
• Working with Tonic and Dominant harmonies.

The included choral version:

• Modulates through 4 keys to enable warming up of a larger vocal range.
• Links to each modulation with a suggested bar of piano accompaniment to transition to each new key.
• With each modulation you can get faster to increase the challenge and the fun!
• Can be used as a 'warm-up game'. Have your students work in pairs or teams facing each other. No-one is allowed to smile or laugh!
