Ol' Texas

This traditional American 'Echo Song' can be used:

  • As an introduction to two-part work.
  • To engage students who struggle to remember words by having them sing the echo.
  • To practise the melodic elements 'low la' and 'low so'.
  • To practise 'ties'.

You might like to have more advanced students sing each phrase in solfa to be echoed by the rest of the class - a great way to help students who struggle in music to gain confidence.
