Arrows (Teaching Aid)

These 4 colour arrows can help in many ways - particularly if you are looking for ways to save your voice.

Here are some ideas for how to use them:

  • Tell students whether they are to move notes on the staff in steps or skips and use these arrows to show the class when to put notes higher or lower than given notes.
  • Practise intervals by using the up or down arrows. For example if you are practising the interval of a third, hold up the arrows when you want students to sing up or down a third from a given note.
  • Save your voice by using these arrows when you want your students to stand up or sit down!
  • Turn the arrows sideways to direct your students to line up at the door or move to a different part of the classroom.
  • Use them to point students in the right direction for a new game or dance.
